I reckon it's to annoy Porsche afficionados. Played for and got, I'd say.

Not annoyed, just not comfortable with it. Someone should tell him that, I don't suppose he'd want me feeling uncomfortable.
I expect if I could be arsed to download all the stuff it would be very nicely done tho.
When I remember to get the engine in the fourteen fixed so I can sell it, I have a plan involving an early 9 (24), lots of bright silver anodising, no spoilers, some carbon panels and a 944 turbo engine. It's going to be pretty, delicate, practical and 350bhp/tonne. One day.

944 Turbo with an LS7. Even better, a 944 Turbo with an LS7 and the DP Motorsport station wagon conversion. Ah, too many cars, not enough time and money.

A 944 is only suitable transportation for those that have never driven a 924.

M135 is going in for its 20k first service on Friday. its only a 90 minute job, so dealer said I can wait at the dealership, and asked if I wanted to take their M4 demonstrator out for half an hour whilst I wait.
Score! -

They're very generous like that. I had a go in an M3 and a Z4 last time I went in.

Will se what else I can blag a joyride in then!
What is the etiquette with state of my car? It has two weeks of B road filth on it.... Feel a bit bad giving it to them in such a state, but they asked if I want it valeted, so washing it before hand seems a bit pointless!

Don't be - that's fine and part of what you are paying for with the service. Unless you are super OCD about washing your car then let them do it.
-
• #25685
It's got a 5 year service pack on it, so there is no cost involved for me anyway!
I've heard they're not the best at car cleaning... But i dont really care that much TBH.... Especially not in the middle of winter. It could probably do with a machine polish in the spring anyway to sort out a few minor paint marks. -
• #25686
Definitely leave it as is. They'll give it a basic clean but will hand it back sparkly (inc an inside vacuum as well).

Dear Lord.

No. 5 is supposed to be a Bentley concept, not an Aston Martin one.
The MX-5 / BMW Z3 one is just mind boggling. Why wouldn't you just buy the BMW?

AFAIK the only 205 GTi 1.9 with an auto box was an aborted run made for the Japanese market. The numbers are either 400 total and 25 sent to the UK market, or 25 in total, all came here. They're all standard issue GTi's with cloth interiors and a detuned engine for some reason, maybe Japanese regs or suttin.

I know this issue affects the B6 S4, 4.2L V8s for a few grand, the prices probably kept low because of the game of Russian roulette you play by taking a chance on one

It's the coking issue that worries me on the 4.2 litre Audi engine, fixable but it comes back again and again. Apparently.
Anyway- has anyone got any roof bars (I have fixed rails) and a couple of bike carriers I can borrow over Christmas?
-
• #25693
Anyway, the real issue with the 4.2 RS variants is that they're not really "big cube"engines. Certainly not in the way they drive.
426 HEMI and then you're talking.
-
• #25694
I have a tow hook one you can borrow if you have one...
-
• #25695
The coking was one of my main concerns - the one I bought was recently de-coked but as you say it comes back again and again and is a £800-1200 fix.
Driving hard apparently helps reduce the build up - not that I need an excuse.

Yep, get it hot, engine under load and high RPM regularly and it keeps it in check. Basically an Italian tune up.
-
• #25697
I do, however I don't have a spare number plate which I guess I would need?
-
• #25698
Yes although you would probably get away with a cardboard one for two trips.

The previous generation of the Mini, with PSA engine was not very successful.
The Mini is safe and grabbed the floor. He makes fast corners, but if with small engine, is missing more power.
To choose a mini, it must be a Cooper S.
Or JCW. But also it depends on driving style. -

Ah. This would explain why the RS4 owning bloke who lives on my road does massive launches away from the junction every morning then hammers it to the red line in first and second. I thought he was just a cunt.
How you even call a 924 a 9?
A 24 maybe, but not a 9 when 60% of other P cars start with a 9 too.
Twenty four (never two four), fourteen (occasionally nine one four, but never just one four) six four (never sixty four) but always nine eleven. Never eleven (that's a lotus) or nine one one (that's a boy band).
