Speaking from experience i had a r3sl that they would not warranty for a crack . Bought a ritchey and it pees all over the cervelo in the comfort stakes .
I've ridden low end steel, high end modern steel, titanium, carbon, all of it. Most comfortable bikes: Roubaix s-works, synapse, r5.
Tyre pressure still makes more difference though - frame material is a bit of a red herring.
