  • ^ probably the first time on the internet that I've genuinely lol'd

Absolutely awesome! When the paint has settled rub some wax onto the frame. At first you'll think you've done something wrong as it'll gloss the whole frame but leave it a few days and it'll go matte and protect your frame from oil and crud a little, then when you wash it just use regular car shampoo and it'll stay nice forever (obviously won't protect against chips). Just don't use washing up liquid as that'll strip the wax. Sorry to dictate info at you!

  • Haha, first thing I thought when I unwrapped the bars, two little bellends.

  • No I appreciate it! Thanks for the advice. Is this a proven method? What kind of wax?

  • I'm sure if you do a load of research you'll find all what I've said to be true but this is the method my father used to use on drag cars and I've used on all my matte bikes over the last 10 years or so :)

  • Nice to see some Kalavinka road builds getting out of Japan.

My friend here in Tokyo recently went for a similar kind of build as you (purple and currently without stickers - will post in a second).

Another interesting thing is that Panasonic also do some custom stuff (my mate's bike shop in West Tokyo recently built up this pretty damn nice road hydro disc machine - again, I will post in a bit).

If anyone is having troubles communicating over here, I may be able to help and perhaps others living over here also can (language, etc can be an issue).

  • The latter Panasonic is a FRCD02? I've been tempted to get one in the largest 61cm size, but always come back to the geometry being a bit odd - Panasonic don't change the angles for us larger folk past a size 54 :(

  • Very nice! Was actually admiring this the other day. My aim is to get the Enve 45 wheelset.

  • I have previously asked Kalavinka about getting an XL carbon track frame but they only go up to 55 maximum :(

  • this is awesome

  • Wow that's gonna be nice!

  • Any progress on this? Am thinking of getting a custom kalavinka as well in the near future and just want to see how this ends up!

  • Looks great, you'll love it.
I made that same choice two years ago , it's number 0912 on the track bike page.

  • Super tardy response but, yes, I believe it is the FRCD02.

I am lucky (in only this respect) that I am only around 176cm so don't need anything 'big'!

  • Definitely backed. That guy's Kalavinka is super compliant and, with the Enves, rides like a dream (so I'm told!).

  • Still hoping for an update.. I had a quick visit to the shop recently and this frame came to mind.

  • Have actually ordered all remaining parts this weekend, build will be hopefully done witihin a week! Only took a year or so....

  • Didnt you just want to ride it the minute it arrived? So much patience!

  • Finally!

  • Pure porn.

  • Wow, it's nice that.

  • Spot on

  • ooft! will be keeping an eye out for this on the road!
