It doesn't count if you already owned those parts though; you already paid for them once. 17 quid for everything but the frame seems a little hard to believe.

yes indeed most parts I'd thrashed and got my money's worth .. Lying around for few years and using them is recycling to cycle :)
Only cost £37 to put it on road in its current state :)

Geez, relax. What I'm saying is when I buy a 1 pound frame and build it up with 2000 pound components I had lying around, I personally would not call it a 1 pound build. All's I'm saying.
I don't think that's bad logic nor me being a dick. No bad intentions were implied. As I said nice bike mate, carry on.
