At football tonight I got a really sore (dull ache but painful to push against) lower shin and felt a bit tight in the calf. Felt kind of heavy as if it was too full.
Question is I play football 4 times per week and have only had this on the pitch we played on tonight (older, hard astro not 3g rubber pellets). Could that be the reason? I've got it in a compression sock and gave it a quick ice.
Sounds like you probably weren't warm enough when you started. Its just muscular so I wouldn't be worried, just stretch it out well. I sometimes get that from running in the road.
