Must admit I didn't see the Sidis when I was buying. I had to go down a size for the Defrosters, 44 vs 45 for my other Spesh.

I like my Hydros, but they're not especially warm. I tend to run them with electrically heated insoles though, so warmth is rarely an issue.

+1 on a long sleeve BL, thick long sleeve jersey (a sportful thermal number in my case) with a race cape, I've done that a few times recently.
The cape is great for getting warmed up in and ensures you're covered for filth weather but can be removed for when the goin' gets tuff. Clever.

Does anyone have the merino leg and arm warmers? The weather is so odd at the moment...I'm finding it too warm for tights but starting to get too cold for just bibs.

I am generally Rapha FKW with exception of some DHB (socks, knee warmers, liner gloves); I've been using these for last 2 years, cant fault them: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-regulate-warm-knee-warmers/

the arm warmers are really great. got 2 pair of them. the knee warmers are great as well, but i never tried them in wet conditions. so if you plan to use them only in cold but dry conditions go for it, of you you want to use them in wet weather as well i would prefer the usual one.

Race up the stairs?
Yeah - I'm swaying toward the Spesh as two pairs of S-Works and a pair of Rime later they're still the only consistently comfy and true sized shoes I've ridden. Very tempted by the SIDI Hydro though - £155 on CRC - £10 off over £99 +10% BRCC Discount.....
