Who converts all your standard Rossin forks to bar mounted???? Do you do this to increase the value ? My belief is that all items should kept original!
-

Lol, both rossin forks are rossin factory original. This later fork from columbus SL came with a frame to Finland for local pro rider. For whatever reasons they did not deliver the USSR team pursuit fork model but this one I have. He rode in rossin sponsored team track and all his frames came directly from italy to fit his measurements.

Are you quite sure ! Looking at all of the bar mounted ROSSIN forks none of them were manufactured in the way that your "original" rossin forks are!
Also the finish of the welding looks rather naive when compaired with the factory produced item! ;) -

I believe I have catalogue pic in my other thread. Rossin forks had most of the time filler to cover welding so that can be missing. I talked directly with this team rider and he showed me old photos of the frameset :)

As you can see below not the same as your converted forks in anyway,shape/ design or workmanship!!!!! Below is how Rossin manufactured them just look how muck filler wasn't needed !!!!! ;)

As I said, I got the fork from the first owner and he got it with team sponsorship bike from rossin :) Impossible to tell the reasons for different design but one could be that rossin had manufactured x amount of those ussr forkmounting forks and made one fork for teams request. Either way it is very hard to argue against when I saw the pictures ;) I have the regular forks also so probably taking this for street when I find carbon disc wheelset that is more durable than ghiblis

I posted a catalogue pic of rossin performance so you see atleast it has similar forks as the performance frame. I could actually try to contact the guy who imported these rossin frames to the rossin team and ask if he knows anything! -

The forks on your frame look different to the originals in the last set of pics. They look similar to the later EL Performance which I believe were produced after Rossin sold out??
Anyway as far as I can see no early forks had the curved section clamps but had 2 part clamps .
However for my two pennyworth I'd say your forks would not possibly have needed filler as you say because they would have been brazed -yours look distinctly welded to me and that is about as likely a Rossin technique as six inch nails. -

Rossin has done so much weird one-of-a-kind stuff and custom jobbies from teams and whatnot i'm not surprised about anything anymore

As makko commented there is many prototype and one of a kind frames and solutions from the pursuit era made by rossin so it is no wonder to see these. The rossin performance has also welded forkmount plate and similar style clamp as on this fork. Also rossin pursuits from columus max has similar style forkmounts which I believe has also been welded. The fork linked up is possibly done with filled brazing technique as it has much more contact area to the fork than these ones with narrower plates attached to fork. What matters in this case is that I know it is real, not what the internet says.. :)

But the Performances are much later prob after Rossin went out of business and even their clamp is not the same as yours. No way would Rossin have used a (less than tidy) weld on those forks -they would have been brazed -pure and simple. It is not difficult to add such brackets to a set of forks -just difficult to do it right -apparently.

Not prototype or from Rossin factory, yours are welded not brazed, plus the forks you seem to have are all welded & all differant !!!! See picture from your earlier thread, those forks only have one mounting bolt not two unlike your current set, & they were also welded!!!!

That is a Columbus SL fork with an extra bit tagged on but that still could be genuine? It'd certainly save some weight on the other design and would likely easily withstand the upward force from a rider starting ..

Have to say the clamp looks very similar to the one used on the Rossin Compact (the one with front aero shield).
Finish quality is not the same as discussed earlier.

You have missed the piont completely ;)
Just got news this one is shipping to Finland and arriving to my collection so lets put a project topic here. So underneath is a pic of frame taken by previous owner. As you can see, forks are not rossin original. Luckily I had a forkmounting fork stashed that had been separated from similar frame. My fork is not the ussr team pursuit model but is separated from a frame imported to Finland. I got the forks from original owner who used regular forks in his frame as he was too tall to ride forkmounting fork. (Not enough reach in bars and too low etc). He had sold his frame years ago but just last summer found the fork and I bought it. I am applying decals to the forks and clearcoating it to match the frame perfectly.
I am looking for campagnolo pista pedals (c-record pista also ok) and carbon disc wheelset as I am planning to use this on streets but ghiblis and fluidisks are too fragile. Hit me with pm if you have something for offer! =)
Updates will follow.
