Last night the A2 was at a standstill. Filtered all the way from work to home. Had a nice chat with an aussie chap most of the way home.
Rode it today at about 9 and it was beautiful. Clear, lots of greens and finally not too warm! E&C probably would've been ok but there was a convoy of 3 police vehicles on the OKR with lights and sirens causing everyone to panic. Weirdly, the lead vehicle was an unmarked old land rover towing an empty flat trailer (like you'd put a car on or something).

This morning was just gorgeous. Out the door at 7:15, just getting light, crescent moon and Venus above the rooftops. Crisp and dry, wonderful opportunity for a nice brisk 6 miles into work without getting horrendously sweaty.
Tingly fingers ftw! 9/10

I've seen a similar woman a bit further west, perhaps it's a common theme:
Sprightly lady in her early 60s, commuting on a hybrid with a basket. Maintaining a good pace despite her sandals, but generally riding like a complete arse (forcing herself through every gap that wasn't there) and then berating any driver who got in her way, even if they were driving perfectly reasonably. Generally the kind of cyclist you feel you need to apologise for when you pass the car after them.

That's shit, out of interest why does the person on left stay still, only to then start moving once a car starts to turn in?

We'd missed the first change because of the same reason and didn't want to wait I guess, I went to back up but fell over

Pulled away from lights tonight just as a guy came past on my left. There we were riding along next to each other for maybe 100 ft both caning it, neither gaining any ground on the other. Both of us ended up starting to giggle at the same time, and shortly thereafter went our separate ways. Would meet my match and chuckle again 10/10

Nice and quiet ride in to work against the wind. Saw Boris heading east down Brewery Road, huffing and puffing despite the tailwind.

I did a silly thing. Got myself knocked off at the junction of Savile Row and Conduit St. Pretty much completely my fault. Now have a Pringled wheel but relatively few scrapes etc.

E&C was almost completely clear at 08:20 this morning.
There were however, many bellends on two wheels around to detract from this.

Got 'drafted' for the first time ever on my way in the other day. I assume it's standard procedure to overlap my wheel for 4 miles of headwind, then steam off as fast as possible without a word when I casually say 'windy today, isn't it?'

Jaguar driver turned the corner on the wrong side of the road, I swing right to pass him on his right and he sounds the horn. ffs.

I was drafted most of the way home yesterday. When he cut to the front of the lights and I shortly after ended up drafting him he kept slowing down to let me overtake him, which I did not.

This is the correct response.
