Some seriously cool stuff from @xavierdisley / Aerocoach

That could only ever be considered seriously cool in the context of this thread...

Cheers. It's a different beast working on a road aero/power position, but we got some excellent improvements for Dani. Knowing what position you can hold in different situations (climbing, breakaway, lead outs etc.) is really helpful when you have a number in your head. We did some really interesting minute stuff too which was fun.
Our 3D scanning is excellent as it allows us to evaluate kit for riders outside of a session. For example we had a rider this morning who had a selection of aerobars but we couldn't test them all as we had other more important things to do: instead offering a package where we CFD each bar without needing to waste time taking them on and off the bike, setting them up identically etc.

Be nice to offer independent data on stuff like bars to people before they bought them. Thought of selling test data packs for stuff you've done?
-
• #1157
I had done, but it's so difficult to keep control over the data without people just emailing it out to all their mates that it isn't really cost effective. Much of the help of the CFD is actually for all the 2016 product development.

Ah, yeah, good point. Though I'm not the kind of person that wants to help anyone get faster unless it's me :)

What would people reckon is more aero- bont zero+s or giro empires?
-
• #1160
If you believe people who field test these sort of things, Empires with duct tape over the laces.
-
• #1161
Do they both fit you?
-
• #1162
Bonts are in the post to me atm, but I have vaypors of the same size and they fit me fine. Giros are perfect size.
-
• #1163
I wanted to try those silly aero Bonts but Bonts in general are no good for midfoot and their QC is meant to be a bit shit. What are the Giros like? Are they those crazy bright lace up shoes?
-
• #1164
The giros are very nice, I like them a lot- they arent all crazy bright (they are the ones that have a reflective model if thats what you mean), mine are just plain black.

Actually, they'd probably match my newest skinsuit. :)

Specialized Sub6 :-)
Will @xavierdisley start making aftermarket lace covers with trip strips? -
• #1168
I took delivery of my "thermal aerosuit" yesterday, this is going to cancel out the rack and mudguards on the bike and enable me to shoot through the air with a triflingly small CDa and complete the Festive 500 with ease.

• #1169
Cut a velotoze?
-
• #1170
If they came up second hand similar to what I paid for the empires or bonts I'd still say no.
-
• #1171
@xavierdisley is flat out sorting the NoPinz skinsuits for next year! DMT pistas are another option and are really good aerodynamically
-
• #1172
Those silly aero bonts are apparently not that fast, and very uncomfortable.
-
• #1173
Yes please. Is there an eta on when they'll be available?
-
• #1174
Team AeroCoach suits are looking very good :)

Look to NoPinz for the announcements, we've got a superb option in 2016 for people who really want to eke out all the speed they possibly can.
We're getting in more testing between Xmas and NYD, when you see the stuff with an AeroCoach logo on it rest assured it's cost a lot of money and time in development to get it right.
Sigma are doing Evade helmets for £99. 10% code PREP10 brings it down to £90. Shame the Women's one isn't reduced - funky colours.
