Doesn't sarcasm only work as a response to a comment made by another as distinct from a response to your own point. ie you stated long was problematic and nobody said short was.
Sarcasm isn't the lowest form of wit - it is the highest but not when used against an point that wasn't contested.

10 mile TT, course H10/2 (just west of Maidenhead), club event so entry on the line (£4), any CTT-legal bike welcome, fancy dress and Christmas decorations optional.
