Nice...
I think I might run a battery one too, it seems a pity, but makes sense

The Supernova rear is amazingly bright, and would recommend, it's trickier to fit and route the cable but once that's done, that's hopefully all you need to do.
I got the battery rear on the Elephants because let face it, it's the kind of bicycles you don't really need to pay attention to.

PBP I ended with the Garmin 100% or something charged with the Luxos.

Jan Heine's mate like me runs this.

a slight upgrade to get it closer to perfection is a small ziptie around it. It tends to disappear when going over rougher ground.

I've just received a b&m rear light in the post and am scrambling to fit it to my bike for tomorrow.
I have a tortec ultralite rack, which, I have noticed, has several openings on its underside, presumably for wires to enter and leave along its length. They're located under the support struts that go across the rack and at the bottom of the stays where it attaches to the dropout eyelets. I can force a wire in but can't seem to get them to appear out of another whole. Anyone with any experience with this rack?

I've been through a ton of rear LED lights... and one of these remains.
Bright, but seems to use far less battery juice than other 0.5 watt rear lights.

Goes very well with New Order.

:-)
I've put an iPod and speaker in my bar bag for overnighters and audaxes. Joy Division (1977-80) goes on the playlist every time.

I don't normally like videos like that^^ but it was really nice actually. Very jealous of the areas Seattle Randonneurs have in their very near vicinity.

They're awesome light, best for the money as long you're not stupid enough to ride without mudguard.

Anyone got a good guide to how I can wire up a usb charger and my e3 supernova front light to my dynamo hub - preferably a guide aimed at idiots who don't know anything about electronics..
-
• #190
In parallel. i.e. stick the + wire from the charger and the + wire from the light into the + port on the dynamo. and the same for the - wires.

How much would a cheap but cheerful dynamo hub and lights set up set me back?
Around £50 for a hub and £50 for a front and rear light?
Any recommendations for a black rim brake hub? Rose have a deore xt dh-t780 for around £50.
What about lights? I'd want ones that dont turn off when stationery and they'd have to mount easily to handle bars and be removable for when the bike is locked up.
Cheers

For a very cheap and cheerful one, about £40 for the wheel/hub/lights and £15 for postage from Germany.
(This isn't exactly what you're looking for as this one has a standlight in the rear but not the front, and the front light is better mounted on the fork crown rather than the handlebars, I prefer this as it means it's permanently attached so no faffing each time you stop/start and much less like to be stolen.)
I already had the lights so I paid £45 (inc P&P) for just a wheel (from the eBay shop of the same seller, they have black rims there).

That really is a good deal.
I'm planning on building a new commuting wheelset so really was just looking at using a dynamo hub for the front so it all matches. Possibly even buying a 3rd rim.

Man I really want a dynamo light

posted up a wanted, but thought I'd bomb this thread. Looking for a fully built dynamo disc hub 700c, if you have a light that you're looking to get rid of as well, will take that off your hands as well.
Thanks in advance.. -
• #196
Do you just want a hub or a front wheel built with a disc equipped dynamo hub?
-
• #197
Think 'fully built' means he's after a wheel.

I've been thinking of getting the Supernova E3 front and back lights. What do people think of these?
-
• #199
Generally get good feedback. Look nice. Beam not as wide as B+M Luxos. Which is the best light ever. #notbiased
Rear is very good.

I'm using them since years.
Incredible rear light. Really, so fucking small (picture this evening if you want)
front is pretty good too because unlike Luxos at something like 10-15kph you've got maximum power which is good during long climb.
The only negative part is the mount, and the wires which need to be really well soldered. Water came easily..
Actually just a battery powered one, good thing about rear light you can run it for a couple of months before it start to fade.
On the unfinished bike, it's one of this;
If I need brighter one, I fit a rechargeable one on the seat tube (like the Moon Comet).
