    I recently acquired a cheap-oh frame to build up as a single speed to commute on as a bit of a change from the CX I ride now. Happy to do a build post here, but won't start a thread now as a) this is my first post and b) it will take me ages to start on it properly.

    I did wonder if anyone knows anything at all about the frame (apologies if this is the wrong thread). It's a Cyril Guimard tourer (i assume - knowledge impaired on... bikes), seems fairly lo spec in that it's not butted tubing and isn't the lightest thing in the world (no frame sticker). It's french (obviously), not lugged, and that's about was much as i know. There's nothing on the internet about the bikes carrying his name as far as i can tell. I could guess that it might be a re-branded Gitane or something, but i'd probably be wrong. Here's a crap photo and some pre-emptive gratitude.

  • I had a few Cyril Guimard and it is just a run of mill bike which is most likely made of 10-20 steel like most Motobecane bike.
    IIRC these were made by France-Loire in St Etienne in France.
