Looks like it's going to be a stunner in that colour. What are you planning on fitting to it?

Following this one. Nice colour indeed.

If that is the original paint, then it's is a mid 1970s frame from 1974 onwards as the decals in the 192-74 had complete different decals with a very simply club logo as well as a crest logo with world bands above and below...

Also the forks have just the club logo with no name (Colnago).

paint poss not original, as there does not appear to be chromed dropouts -

Wanted............
Colnago super 1971 as tribute to my birth year.
Funnily enough though as nice as it would be to have my eyes are always drawn to the later stuff I would drool over in bike shop windows as a young teenager.

Paint looks to me original. I bought the bike from the first owner who had the bike just standing in his garden for approximately 10 years. But i am trying to date this one. Could it be 1978 frame? It came with a Shimano arabesque group and the first year that one was produced is 1978...

could be 78, they changed from 79-82/83 then there was an 88 model

Yes! No cable guides on a 1972 frame... Forgot to mention…
and no decals "record ora" on a 1972 frame as Merckx broke the hour reccord in octobre 1972. ;-)

Thx, the rear dropouts aren't chromed. Was that usual the case or were these normally chromed?

i'll take the 5th amendment on drop outs
looking at the catalog, it is very hard to see if there are chrome drop outs
certainly there were on models from the 80's onwards
Hi,
Just want to show one of my future projects. A 1972 Colnago Super. It was in a very bad shape when i've picked it up. Seatpost , bottom bracket cups and the stem were all stucked so i had to saw them out. Fork is now at the chromer. The frame is going to be fully refurbished. I am still thinking about the colour but i am probably going with the same color as it has now allready.
