But try and find period images of uncut LA84's.... They're hard to come by. It's inefficient to have excess material on competition bicycles.
Yes - Cinelli only didn't cut them because the hacksaw was not invented in Italy until 1985. Cut them off, loose the factory brake holes and have personalised and devalued items - not a good plan.
