This morning's commute and other commuting stories

Two notable incidents on last night's ride home.

First one was with a cab on my right while waiting a red light. As the lights changed we accelerated at a similar rate, with a line of parked cars ahead meaning there wasn't enough space to remain two-abreast. I looked to my right, made eye contact with the driver, and amazingly he backed off to let me go ahead. I waved a very surprised thanks, in awe of the power of my stare.

In contrast to that, at the lights at the top of Finsbury Park Rd waiting patiently to turn into Seven Sisters, a couple rode past me on either side, stopped right in front of me and promptly started snogging. Predictably this continued while the lights changed, which they were completely oblivious to. Totally deserving of a cock-punch, which could've really ruined their plans for the evening. In hindsight I should've again used the power of my stare.

Looking forward to the 2-way E&C clustfuck tomorrow.

I thought earlier, "It can't be any worse" then realised that it could, of course, be much, much worse.

The E&C scheme is absolutely terrible nonsense, a disgrace for London. All because TfL are selling out to property developers.

Actually, I see it started at 5 this morning.

The SE1 Twitter feed is saying they still haven't updated all the road signs so there's no clear indication of where people should go. I'm actually considering walking that section. Will probably be quicker anyway.

At losing

made the mistake of going for lunch in E&C this afternoon. took a full 30 minutes to get round it in the car. tfl have installed pople in hi viz vests to 'help'.

To the cyclist lady on fluo specialized, sorry I overreacted to what I assumed to be a dangerous undertaking... as I already had momentum as the lights turned green, I though you were enough behind when getting back in cycle lane, I should have checked. Again sorry for shouting and being a globally a dick... Shame about the Don Juan Brompton rider who I think only aggravated the situation with his irrelevant input...
My fault anyway, you may not have though I was sincere when I apologized for shouting at you, I was, no need for losing my cool like I did.

Well that was different traffic jam from Kensington Tube to E&C. Cars blocking the exits/entry points on E&C everyone jumping the lights. 10 minutes to cross from one side to the other. Will have to find another route

I got the train again. FUCK ME. E&C is a mess. I heard hi viz tfl helping dudes "this is madness".

I'm just about to go through E&C in a car. This could be life changing awful.
