Here's my last three races at Hog Hill;

By the looks of it, Sunday's course is similar to the one from September this year, so two climbs a lap.

Buy a roll of gorilla tape and trim it to fit exactly
-
• #4329
OK, but I'd still need sealant and a valve, right?
-
• #4330
Yep
If you have any busted inner tubes with valves with removable cores just cut them out
-
• #4331
Thank you. I will take a look at them in my break.

Anyone going to be at the North of England Champs on Sunday?

I'll be there in cheering/pit crew mode for the women's race. Will also cheer for you if you tell us your bike/jersey combo.

I'd assume @andy_k would be spectating or providing Craft Ale handups.
I'm interested, but weather might be orrible and I expect to be obliged to drink a lot while having dinner at someone's house on Saturday night.

Spectating/heckling/hot drinks for me if I make it up.
Going to have a rummage through the cupboards and see if I have everything to rustle up a few hot toddies...

So had a look. Worst part is basicly 19m with 9% grade right? :-(
Twice pr round.. Bollocks -

Sounds about right, but if its muddy then you'll have minimal grip too. Quicker to get off and run I think.
At the December round last year, I was running a few hundred metres each lap, was quicker than riding due to the mud.

I have a hipflask.

It's all going to be open, as it's a cat A race, so no singletrack as per the last few races at Hog Hill. One of the climbs will be on the road, the other will probably be interrupted with steps so at the best some of it will be running. I'll be running 39x19.

Great thank you. 42x21 it is then.

With only a week to go we thought we would drop a cheeky plug for our Christmas themed cross party next Friday! We will give details of the (very easy to reach from central south of the river) location next week and hopefully people will be relieved to hear that will be a warm and dry meeting place to sign on from 8pm where you can get a pre-race coffee/beer before we take you to the course.
Solid front lights are essential, there will be a small amount of lighting on the course in strategic locations but this is a night race first and foremost.
Don't forget to don your finest xmas outfits, there will be a prize for the winner in the form of some fine clobber from the folks at Brother Cycles. Other prizes for inappropriate bikes and spot prizes on the night.
If you like your cross racing unsanctioned, unadulterated and possibly a little unorganised, then get your self down next friday, bring beer, hecklers and festive cheer!
(Rumours of free mulled-cider for spectators and post-race after party are also gaining traction...)

Does anyone have a pair of carbon cross forks, canti mounts, fairly long straight 1 1/8 steerer they have for sale? Something like EC90x or Ritchey would be ideal but I'd consider others too.
-
• #4343
I have the old forks off my Columbus. Will try and dig out a pic.

• #4344
thank you

@Incredibly_Cross
Might sit this one out and spectate.
Can't justify forking out for nice lights just for this race. -
• #4346
Maybe I'll stick 8 of my little lights on and see how I fare
:-P -

A half decent light of about 200 lumens plus will suffice, don't need anything too special.

For the price you'll do well to beat these, they've served me well in many a dark lane... http://www.amazon.co.uk/E-Goal-Lights-Flashlight-Holders-Zoomable/dp/B00OOJZ7LA/ref=sr_1_3?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1449241030&sr=1-3&keywords=cree+light+set

"my eyes!"
If my clincher wheels have a 24mm external, 20mm internal rim width, which Stan's kit would I get to go tubeless? Looks as though it would be the XC 29er kit as they're too wide for the Cyclocross?
