  • Went to the German Gymnasium last night, gorgeous building and swanky interiors, mood lighting. Currywurst was very nice, great sauce. I'm meat-deprived, so I got a steak additionally. Very good, perfectly done, seasoned and presented. May be the best bernaise I've ever had, not too sour, but buttery flavoured. Black forest gateau was very boozey.
Go for a date or to impress the parents or boss/client.
Wasn't cheap so don't go with alcoholics, or greedy people who orders a currywurst and a steak!

  • Currywurst was very nice, great sauce

Currywurst sauce is normally tomato ketchup with 'curry powder' (as I haven't used it for decades, I don't quite know which mixture is normally sold in Germany). Have they jazzed it up there in some way or are they actually selling that to people?

  • of course they're jazzing it up. Made from scratch.

Head Chef Bjoern Wassmuth told us a little about what to expect from the menu. As you might imagine there will be wurst on the menu - he's rather proud of the currywurst dish he has planned. Sausages have been sourced from Germany, with a recipe exclusive to the restaurant.

ps: i confess, i actually rate the heinz currywurst sauce i got in berlin...
