Hello
Hoping someone can help identify my frame model - it's titanium, made with Litespeed tubing, but has an aero down tube and looks a lot more like a Litespeed (from some brief research online) than the other Eddy Merckx Ti frames. Original carbon forks, metal head badge.
Not sure which model it is - not an EX, AX, Majestic or Millennium as far as I can tell. I bought it new in early 2003 (RRP was £1,800), and it has J 0212 stamped in BB shell.
VGC, and I'm looking to sell it if anyone is interested. 54cm ctc, but 58 ctt seat tube, 56cm ctc top tube, so about a 55-56cm all round.
Pics attached (more to follow) and any help gratefully received!
Thanks
Jeremy

Thanks for the super fast reply and mystery solved! Yes, that does look very very similar - it's the first picture I've seen of that model, and the year and price match.
The only differences I can see were the decals (easy to change) and the pump brazings, which mine doesn't have.
Thanks again.

and looking a bit closer, the seat collar, the brazings for the gears (mine are on the d/t) and mine has the polished Eddy Merckx and Titane with EM logo (which I thought might have been the model name) on there drive side chain stay.
I think mine was a slightly 'custom' version, hence the minor differences, and as it says on the catalogue it was a special order.
I have seen a Domo Eddy Merckx pro titanium frame, but it had round tubes tho'…..

finished my corsa extra (thanks Wim!)
a long way from a 'classic' build but it's for riding not hanging on the wall. Going to avoid the rain and gravel for a while though as the paint is in amazing condition for its age.
If anyone's got a link for those 5-4mm ferrules for the top tube brake cable please let me know

One didn't use them. Back then one would use some brake cable liner and remove some of the plastic casing of the housing to fit. A modern alternative is Nokon cables.

Here's my one with Di2, had Campy on it before but since I rode a SRAM/shimano bike a couple of months ago, it felt that the thumb shifters are more of a nuisance for my small hands so I decided to move on and start using SRAM/Shimano . Have to say, the brakes on these are freaking crazy compared to campy!
Currently on the lookout for a quill grammo to replace my ahead adapter

Very nice too! Are you thinking of selling the Ahead Grammo? If so: I might be interested (depending on price asked...).

Weinmann, slx, won some big local championship in the 90s. Hate the wheels and tyres and bar tape on it.

aha, i see the old merkcx is still kicking! That used to be mine until you bought it off me hehe!

Agree about the tyres and tape but an easy fix. Wheels are cool but they are pretty heavy.
Shroom changed your username then, didn't realise it was you.

Looking at buying either corsa extra or leader.
I have now seen a corsa extra with Max tubing - please can you tell me what these are like or am I better off looking for the latter model's.
Any thoughts /wisdom required.
Thanks -

If you can buy one, don't wait untill it's gone. These frames don't pop up that often.

My wife has a MAX. I have the MXL. The main practical difference is the oversized top tube on the MAX. It is, like all oversized framesets, a bit more prone to small dings. The rest is almost just a question of aesthetics. Personally I like the externally lugged MAX fork--- have one also on my track bike-- but the internal version (which is what the MAX got) is also quite nice. The paint on the MXLs is a bit better as the MAX did not get the Zinc basecoat but either way we are talking about frames made in the 1990s. The MAX is quite rare as not many were made--- Merckx back then thought few people would be willing to pay for them (the frames were around 2000 DM or around $1250 USD back in '92). Worth getting? Sure if the price is right and the geometry/size is right..
and this one...
