fine looking weapon!

i think tube choise on yours is quite odd for a dream pista, so thats why i think you can't compare yours to others. i assume that the smaller seat post diameter is due to the aero seat tube. Thomson elite black is available in 26.8 btw ! Fits your slave plans well !

It's super weird. The top tube is the strangest one i have ever seen. I know Thomson has basically every size but i try to build it up with Italian parts. Got a nice Cinelli and ITM stem, Record C seatpost also a Shamal front wheel.
Rear Shamal would be nice but Track Shamals are rare (wem erzähl ich das) also tubular -

just picked up a mk 1 art decor c40, a proper mk1 mind, with round tubes, pre crimping
pics will come
also has a Belgian name on it, same as a rider who was rated 122nd(I think) overall back in da day -

If it's this colour scheme I will be very very jealous.

no, you're good, vendor was a fucking Gent, only a couple of miles away from me, hopefully we will ride
-
• #1258
geo on the mk 1 c40 is pretty master ish I think compared to c40 b-stay
name is Herman Frison
same fella or doppelganger ?custom frame set, as has internal tt cable routing, pristine condition
stem and seatpost will gtfo asap -
• #1259
Oh my!
That's a nice find indeed. That seatpost is a disaster agreed (and I'm sure you've flipped the stem already). Is that a precisa steel fork on it? -
• #1260
fork is precisa, not flipped stem yet, needs a quill really, Gent had a mk 2 c40 in good nick as well next to it
-
• #1261
Saw one of these on a bike the other day. It looked nice IMO. Thinking about getting one for my Super that's got a threadless/quill adapter on currently.

flipped the stem! looks a bit better
deda looks ok, why not try a 3ttt or cinelli in black though? -
• #1263
You're right they're probably a better choice. I think it was the satin look that drew my attention to it but in hindsight it might look a bit too 'modern'.
Love to see more of the C40 when you've finished tinkering with it -
• #1264
I'm probably mistaken , but I think the Deda would have stiffness issues being double bolted like that
i have to sell some other bits to get round this c40 tbh, was a fair price though , would like a grammo stem at the minute, but this may change, ambrosio rims with plenty off life, bike was not ridden hard mercifully like other Belgian bikes I've had
vendor showed me pics of an mx leader ,like this....
....NOS....and my size
...fuck sake -
• #1265
decor is apparently [[Mapei Black
like the Ballerini one in the Colnago museum
winning Paris Roubaix on one
always a win when vendor is clueless about this shit -
• #1266
My C40 is the same Franco 95 colour, but it's crimped. Let me know if you're going to sell off the seat post, might be interested.

I wasn't sure if that was a picture of the Colnago Museum or you living room ;-)
It's looking more appealing by the minute isn't it -

So, I'd like to invest in a Colnago frame in the coming year and spend some time building it up almost period correct. Maybe someone here could point me in the direction of which model I'm after. I have 2 different styles of bikes in mind and I'd be very happy with either.
1) pre 1990s (I think) External cable routing, non aero brake levers. Will this be a Super or a Master?
2) post 1990 Internal routing, Shamal and Delta brake era, Now this would be a Master or Master Piu?Any help appreciated. oh and they must have been available in red, obviously

Very nice.
Just need an intro to the humanplasma clinic in Vienna and you're good to go. ;-)
There is something odd about the seat post diameter.
All Dream Pistas i have seen on internet take 27,2mm posts even the older ones.
I measured mine with a caliper and it's clearly a 26,8 mm. It's hard to find some nice posts in black with this stupid old school diameter.
