  • Yeah, lots of wandering around and distinctly average CGI of Nazi/Jap occupied USA in 1962.

    Some nice cars mind.

  • This was my feeling with the pilot. Still looking forward to watching it when I get a chance.

  • London Spy
Not an easy watch but really enjoying it. IYSWIM.
Can really feel the menace of the Establishment closing in around him. First time really scared for a lead character.

    Top TV

  • Finished The Man in the High Castle - Not bad at all, gets better as it goes along.

Next up - Season 2 of The Americans.

  • on episode 6. interesting development at end of

  • I'm watching Yes Minister right from the beginning. Makes you realise how little effort goes into writing most of the stuff on modern telly.

  • First episode of Capital on iplayer was really good, though haven't read the book to compare.

  • I've started The Bridge, the Swedish one natch. It's formulaic, but well acted, and Swedish sounds like music.

  • I tend to watch it all every couple of years, its amazing that the same excuses and terminology is used in current politics.

  • I'm trying to learn how to speak like Sir Humphrey. It might come in useful.

  • Agree, my favourite TV this year

  • The BBC 4 Storyville episode Cartel Land is a great watch too, on iplayer

  • I love drunk history, the most recent one is about space and includes stuff about V2 rockets, they made Hitler black, which is awesome.

  • The Man in the High Castle = 10 hours of my life I won't get back.

That horrible breathy rendition of 'Edelweiss' is sickening.
Female lead and her speccy boyfriend both expressionless and wooden.
    Meandering and stilted plot.
Characters I couldnt give a shit about ultimately.

If only the guy who authored the original novel had written about robots instead.
Even the little kid who likes turtles would stand for a robot story.

  • I've watched up to number 6, so I guess I have to finish it.
Pity really. I thought the pilot episode was great.

  • Damn.. I love the concept.

  • And by that I obviously mean I love the idea of a world ruled by the Nazis and imperial Japan.

  • Sunk costs fallacy. Give up on it.

  • ^ I kinda feel the same - 3 to go and not bothered either way really

    agree the music is hideous

  • I've given up on loads lately, I should see something through.
Anyway, I'm watching the new series of The Bridge as well.

Last comment edited for spoiler. I made a tongue-in-cheek prediction that couldn't possibly be true, and it looks like the writers may have actually gone there.

Fucking lazy writing, they might have broken it.

  • Awww no!

    Its rating just went from:
'Almost as good as Forbrydelsen (series 1)'
to 'Almost as shit as Dexter (any fucking season)'

  • I did like the bit with the spider and the hoover though.

  • I just wanted Martin back...

  • If only the guy who authored the original novel had written about robots instead.
Even the little kid who likes turtles would stand for a robot story.

Nah, it would have been shit.

  • High Castle was utterly crap, fucking furious actually
