given the lower end offering of Roux bikes, their own brand components won't be that great, buy @eyebrows 11sp aksiums!

Thanks.

I wore out my non-rebuildable factory wheels, but since building the Cervelo have I have lost the heart for spending silly money on unnecessary stuff. So not quite ready to put RS-81s on it, but want to avoid pro peloton prices.
For some reason I've always had a big aversion to Campag, and therefore Fulcrum, especially on a Shimano equipped bike.
I'm going to have a measure...I can use an old 24c Pave, but not a 25c Corsa. The rim is lower than the widest point of the tyre though and the seat stays open out so 24.5mm rims may be okay.

You're probably not getting a bite because they are quite often for sale from retailers at that price.

None and no, not really.

The aksiums are brand new, and I'm still £10 less than wiggle.
People can always offer things.
And I don;t mean last years 10 spd fulcrum 3s, and even try and find the classics for under £900.
For example:
Fulcrums: https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=fulcrum+racing+3&tbm=shop
Minimum £320
Classics- clincher- £989...

But nevermind.
I've been on this forum too long, it would appear. -

Ha cheers, but my conscience got the better of me. I think when I'm ready to go crabon I will want tubs to go the whole hog. Spring will bring lightweight alloys, maybe featuring bling from a little know hub manufacturer from Portland. Stay tuned for more chronic indecision.

1 cool, but I thought low spoke count not for fat asses like me
2 not so cool, is it lasers or paint? Can I acetone it? -
• #5963
low spoke count
^ this again? Read back a few pages, it's been covered enough times.
The wheel is painted black, the graphics are bare metal, so no, you can't acetone it. It's pretty subtle though.

I'm accumulating wheels otherwise 120 for those aksiums would have been great.

I need disc wheels for my next bike - Kinesis 4S Disc.
So QR, 135mm OLD. I'm quite big and heavy (6'6" and ~90kg) so low spoke count might not be a great idea...
I'm tempted by the idea of ebay 50mm chinese carbon clinchers, just because I've been hankering after carbon rims for ages and disc wheels mean I don't have to worry about crap braking or overheating and delaminating the rims.
The bike will be used for commuting, general day rides, maybe the occasional bit of touring (although if I was doing proper laden touring again I'd maybe look at getting very beefy touring wheels rather than insisting on 'do-it-all' wheels). Not bothered about whether they're centrelock or 6-bolt, unless there's a good reason to prefer either?
What are my alternatives for £250/300 max? Kinesis Crosslight disc wheelset?

Interesting! I had no idea these existed, definitely look like a good option (if a little over budget).

Why bother with deep carbon? Just get some half decent 29er wheels
-
• #5969
This very much.
Even ZTR Crest was more than enough for the task listed.
-
• #5970
Do you have Crests? I know they're light but there's about a million threads on other forums with people complaining about it being a very tight fit for tyres and many people giving up when fitting 28s or similar even with skinny stans tape...

BECAUSE

exactly this.

Because crabon!

Crest are not difficult to fit.
Actually fairly easy if you know what you're doing.
Srs though, anyone want some wheels...
