Don't do that sort of stuff yourself as a first go
I tiled a bathroom floor to ceiling with 100mm x 100mm tiles first go.
The difference between my tiling, and that of a pro, is that mine probably took five times as long, probably has a little more attention to detail, and I'm not sure that a pro would have been on the phone to my father quite so much.
Never again though.

Yes. Don't do that sort of stuff yourself as a first go. A tile that's half a mm off square in any direction will ruin the rest of your life. Every morning you will look at it and regret not paying for a pro.
The work in that pic is a proper, proper job. Except whoever fitted the shower screen has almost fucked the whole thing up by not quite lining it up with the grout.
Even so, 9.9/10 would bang the tiler.
