My frame number is,
21486
3Meaning it was made in 1986. The 3 denotes the frame builder.
Mine also came with a postcode stamped on the BB, of the buyer.

Bought a '72 on the strength of being a Mercian. How do Mercian number their BB shells ?
Only reason for alarm bells is that it appears to be 27.0 plain guage 531, not the normal double butted. A 27 mm seat post seems a lot more of a fit you see.
