No one could have idolised McCullin more than I did, from when I was 14 or 15 and got one of his books for the first time. Brave, dedicated, and so very good looking he was the ideal war photographer. He was one of the greats. But he's also become a bore. A bit like Stephen Roche talking about modern day cycling. McCullin has talked too much about how the misery he has seen has affected him, it's rather tasteless and his peers refrain from it. His comments about digital are just curmudgeonly.
He'a a complex character and has led a worthwhile life but it pains me to read his interviews nowadays.
