  • Bigger gears make you faster right?

Even just using the same gears but with bigger sprockets makes you faster.

Why does your titchy chainring have more reinforcement than my 64T/130PCD? Why are the even smaller stock rings solid?

Gebhardt seem to be a bit random :-) I think I might go Fibrelyte on the tandem, at least I'll know what's going to arrive in the post.

  • No idea. This was second hand and a bit daft, but only £17. My Gebhardt 56t (now redundant if anyoen wants to make me an offer) gives almost exactly the same ratios with a sprocket 1t smaller.

Solid? I'm looking for a 56 with metal where the Vumachrono screws go

  • Not solid. Another weird Gebhardt cutout pattern. But yours for what the 60t cost me if you want it.

  • Looks like the cutouts are a bit too big, I need solid metal down to a maximum pilot bore of 170mm, screen ruler says yours is more like 185mm

  • I might be interested in that if it's still going, might be handy if i decide to get really fast in my 4 month summer next year

  • Yes, still available. PM me.

  • Gone trendy

  • Fantastic

  • Replacing the 'spoke altogether, or is this just for long distance comfort?

  • Long distance comfort is the justification. Not necessarily replacing the Hed3, need to test them. Might just stick a 20c on this for short stuff, works well apparently.

  • Rude tyre

  • Disaster strikes. My beloved FSA Vigorellis foul on the chainstay. I couldd space out the BB, but my chainline is already 2mm too far out thanks to the PT. Hmm.

Got the cable routing for the TriRig nice and neat though:

  • What is PT chainline?

  • 40mm, for some reason.

  • My beloved FSA Vigorellis foul on the chainstay.

    Dibs for @Dick!

I know he has a thing for Vigs: just needs to trade the GT in...

  • Would dishing the hub over 2mm be enough for the RT cover to not fit anymore? And I know they look aero but are they actually aero enough to keep? Rotor tracks could do be better without fouling the chainstay

  • Moving the hub over would requite new spacers and maybe a new axle as it's female threaded.

Raltecs are plenty aero, probably more aero than some true discs. But my old ones don't fit the T3 anyway so I'm getting some new ones made in the new year.

Rotor tracks have a huge q factor which I'd like to avoid . And I think they have a >42 chainline anyway. Rotor Track P2M is a possible long term option, but would require a new disc which I'm not going to have the money got any time soon.

Cobbling together some low-q DA7600 is another option, but I'll probably just stick 75s back on.

  • Can help with custom washers if you're stuck.

  • 140mm isn't low! My 75s are 139mm anyway.

  • Well I take 140mm as the benchmark for Q goodness.

Didn't know 75 were in the game though!

  • Miche Primato you say...

  • Old dura-ace 7400 road cranks are 130mm q-factor on a 103bb, if you can find them. Outer ring at 41mm
