some were drilled from the factory, pop on some road forks and you got a year round trainer. I think some even had bottle mounts. and yet it's still the fixie grail for most people

Your best bet is probably having luck and finding someone who doesn't know what he's selling.
This. That's how I got mine last year, the guy didn't think that a 20+ years old frame would still cost that much. Hang in there. ;)

Found it in France, close to the Swiss border (2hr drive from home). Had to respray it and a replica fork made by Orlowski.
