Reach seems to be a big factor in willingness to manual?
-
• #7878
Chainstay length is the primary factor innit? You're rotation your weight around the rear axle, so longer chainstay = weight more forward = got to lean further back to counterbalance.

Weight distribution, and lever length.
My 29er had a carbon fork. But it was tricky to maneuver sometimes. As the rear wheel was a mile behind me.

Need to go to manual school
My mates Process felt dead easy to get up in the air - and that was a full Susser with 150mm rear travel. Maybe because it was orange

Orange bikes are better off road.
Red are faster.
Green are more comfortable for longer rides.
Fact.

I'd be up for off road training if I was there.
I do all those noob mistakes still. I've just refined them.
I couldn't bunny hop a blade of grass without being clipped in.

I just took the cleats off my DH shoes. I'm now learning to ride from scratch

Just stripped the knackered Corsair and rebuilt my old Gary Fisher hardtail. Forgotten quite how much fun riding it is, just went flying up and down the bike path for a test run. Ready for a trip into Wales tomorrow in the weather.

Would this interest anyone here?

I run a Hope narrow wide on the middle slot of and SLX triple crankset and had to file the male and female parts down to suit. No real drama just a little time consuming.

BTW, anyone used Mojo for device work on forks?
I've got some tired internals on some old Vanillas that need servicing and a heavier spring is required.Just wondered what people's opinions of them were.
Cheers. -

Used in the past, all was fine. Even got a hefty discount on an ex demo pair when I wrecked a pair of vanilla.

Did both these at half term. Penmachno well worth the trip.

Anyone on 'ere doing the Strathpuffer 2016? I'm signed up with my brother and 2 cousins as a quad, 3 inexperienced riders and on that has done it 3 times, on of which was solo.

Amazing service. Sent, serviced and returned within 48hrs! Definitely pay the £10 for their collect and return.
I have had the pleasure of dealing with them on 3 occasions, twice warranty (still a pleasure!) and another service. The forks come back set perfectly every time and i don't have to touch them. Performance difference compared to out of the box/home setup is incredible.

Currently watching the Klunkerz film on the birth of moutain biking at Mount Tamalpais. God, those guys had some good fucking times.
I found fork weight to be almost irrelevant when it comes to trying to manual, the easiest bike to manual that I've ever ridden was this full on DH thing with triple crowns, front came up easy and it took little effort to hold it. Way easier than my carbon bike with XC forks that said my SSCX bike does like to manual a bit more than the tallboy too.
