Osborne has u-turned on his tax credit plans in the autumn statement. 2% rise in council tax too to fund social care.

I was surprised. It has made me like him more. I wonder if Hunt would U-turn on doctors' pay if a similar pressure was exerted.

Good is that democracy may have worked, bad is that he may pull a shit trick on other several smaller and more vulnerable groups to get the money.

Ironic since the bill had passed the elected house of commons, but was blocked by the unelected lords.
