mm.
If heavy snowfall wasn't just around the corner I'd already have my set of Fatboys on the SSCX rig. Schwalbe Land Cruisers it is till spring, I guess.

Cheap skating custom sscx frames is a noble and rare art.
Currently not doing any frames sorry.
I would def get one of the new pomps. Soo much frame for the money -

just (down?)graded to Ultegra cranks; anyone keen on Rotor 3D+ with Absolute Black 1x chainring 42t with BSA30 BB? £175 all in.
-
• #3282
They are £125 on planet x atm, its very tempting. Shame they have such little headtubes.

You can't both be cheap and demanding :-)

This is great.
The fact that all of next years winners tattoos will likely have the error included is not.

if anyone's interested i have got a pair of Kenda Kross Cyclo Tyres, 700x35c, clincher. Perfect for training, weekend rides in the forest and urban riding. Like new.
Deep but tightly grouped tread ensures grip in all conditions, without sacrificing rolling efficiency. A great tire for commuting or traveling the local trails. Unique tread designs makes this a great snow tyre.
£14 for the pair

So I just purchased this:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/70950295@N03/22644629658/
I'm leaning towards building it with black sram cranks + levers, black Deda finishing kit incl quill adaptor with OS stem + bars.Or I was thinking silver quill stem + bars, silver levers (cane creek maybe), Shimano cantis and Dura ace silver cranks.
What do you think?

More questions:
MTB stems on cx bikes legit?
Aliums or eggbeaters?
Are cross levers a good idea in addition to aero levers?
cheers -

A stem is a stem

Whelp, couldn't help it. Fatboys on. Went out for a quick rip, super plush.
Mudguards and this'd be an ace commuter.

Looks great! How do you get your cat to pose so peacefully? Mines fucked
-
• #3291
Standard

• #3292
you reckon you can get guards on with those brakes? IME 35c (maybe 38) with a 45mm guard is max for mini V ..
-
• #3293
Cat was doing the cat inspection of the bike. Snapped my fingers to get his attention just before I took the shot. Turned out better than expected.
-
• #3294
Yeah not likely with this setup. Brakes, Fatboys, Fenders. Choose two. Cantis would probably do in a pinch, or could just go brakeless fixed, but no way fenders are gonna fit both the mini-Vs and the (45c!) Fatboys.

Clean bike is clean. Sorry for the nds pic.

Finished off the mash cx yesterday, hopefully going to give it a test ride today. Definitely needs a nicer freewheel, shitty dicta one is shitty. Otherwise feels good, very happy with it.
Will be a commuter for this winter and then have a tyres swap and hopefully and wheel upgrade in spring and see some mud :)
Also got a matching fizik stem coming (the one on this bike is cursed)

45mm tyres are a bit much, but I can fit 38mm paselas and SKS guards under trp cx9 mini v brakes on my crosscheck.
-
• #3298
Yeah pretty much what I thought.
-
• #3299
Anyone got any experience with white industries freewheel but the green trials version?
Is it worth buying this over the standard one?
