Usually when someone mentions a frame is up for a respray the next pics just show fancy shots of a crappy job. What a surprise.

The paint job was well worth the wait Adam, and the extra coin. I can't wait to see this one finished!

very good example of how much a good paint job is worth
fresh paint kissing concrete never fails to make me cringe a little

the wheels will be dura ace 7261 x mavic ssc with (new) old vittoria mondiale tubulars.
the wheels should have mavic hubs, some gitane profils are spaced at 80 at the front but this is 100, so the dura ace hubs will do.
I want the final build to be as close to the catalogue as possible with the dura ace group, phillippe bar and stem & concor saddle etc

Catalogue photo really doesn't do that thing justice - beautiful frame and beautiful paint.
so, this has been (another) really slow project of mine.
in march 2013 this was listed on ebay in Australia,
I bought it cheaply and took it apart and cleaned it up.
it was pretty rough and needed a new paint job. it needed a very small dent in the seatstay filled too, so I put it in the too hard pile in the shed where it hung for aggeess.
meanwhile I sold the ratty old dura ace group it came with and slowly gathered the same group in better condition.
a bit of time passed and I dropped the frame in for its repair, and then drove out to the sungraphics in Melbourne to have it painted.
I left work early last Friday (thanks boss) and picked it up, drove it home in the rain, sat it down in the lounge room and starred at it while I had dinner.
the next day (Saturday) it was super windy outside, no way would I risk it falling over in the wind while being photographed, so I had waited this long, I had to wait a little longer.
finally on sunday morning there was no wind, so after I walked the dog ..
I need a few small parts, but its progressing well. I am still hunting for the original plain skinny campy brake levers, but not holding my breath!
hopefully it wont take 2 more years to have it built, but im in no hurry.
