Moto Play X rooted and set up. Was planning to leave stock but after discovering that a variety of my tasker scripts don't work, you can't install adaway and, worst of all, you can't restrict permissions without doing so then it left me no choice.
Pretty straightforward to root but with an interesting slant in that you have to log into the motorola website to get an unlock code at which point you have to agree that it voids the warranty.
Touching the two together to copy stuff over didn't seem to work (not sure if it was due to one being on Marshmallow or them being rooted). I'd already backed up everything on titanium backup though so restoring was simple.
Phone itself seems nice for the price. Slightly too big at the moment, will have to try and get used to that. Fits in a pocket ok.
