Re max spacers I recall 1 inch for 1 inch steerer is a good rule of thumb.
ie 25mm.
l see the tandem is still hanging up in Vaz!

Noted for spacers. Got more at the moment but it's just a first fix, not ridden yet (won't be a while, so much to sort out on that bike...)

Re tandem: I hope it doesn't make you feel bad... Let's call it a long term project... But I haven't forgotten about it!

If final diagnosis is that it can be saved and ridden (Winston only confirmed so far that forks were salvageable), this will be refurbished and ridden!
