Some great planning on TFLs part. Noticed at the weekend that the Bus stop on the Oval Island is still in use even though there is currently no pavement for disembarking passengers to walk along to get to the crossing. So when going straight ahead to Clapham via the new route with the superhighway going behind the bus you are suddenly confronted with loads of people walking in what will be the path for cyclist. There is another bus stop about a minute up the road, why not close the one being worked until the work has finished?

Left my bike at work the other night as I was going out to a gig straight after. Got the train then took a Nextbike (Boris bikes for Glasgow) coz getting the train all the way here would have been way too shit to handle.
Fat woman that was taking up the 2 seats beside me and carrying enough grease on her forehead to run a chippy for a month devoured a can of coke, a pack of crisps and a Kinder chocolate bar thingy in the space of 5 stations/12 or so minutes. Just wanted to scream "STOP FUCKING EATING" at her.

I ask myself this question as I battle down this road every morning. When it was just 4 lanes for all road users, you picked a lane and just went with it.
Now you either have to leave the segregated lane early and into traffic, or go right down to the end and batter up and over the segregation curb thing, again into traffic.
There was a police motorbike parked up on the last segregation right turn exit (which was blocked with a no go sign and still is) for a few weeks with a bobby always making notes on a clipboard. I asked him why it was closed and the answer was "safety for cyclists"...

According to a lady this morning, i am a 'grown man' and i should 'buy a car'. She also informed me that it is illegal to filter past traffic.

Yeh that dudes just a fucking prickcunt.
I got very angry, first time someone hasn't rolled their window down to argue back. Pretty much an admission of guilt in my book

Ha, I once got told by a taxi driver that I was too young to be on the road in London. And that I had probably just started cycling here and didn't know what I was doing / shouldn't do it.
So you can't win, too young don't cycle on road. Too old buy a car.
Turned out I had been cycling in London longer that he had been taxiinng

Bloke in a Range Rover pulled out of a side road in front of me so I screamed "Cunt!" and he said "You give cyclists a bad name", I said "No. I just gave you a bad name, KAPPOW" but unfortunately that wasn't til a couple of miles later when I thought of it.

I've only recently started having to use that bit so don't know what it was like before but it's moronic now.
Big wide two way bike lane on the right is ridiculous and under-utilised.
Stop lights (and presumably go lights for bikes coming from the left) with no light control at all for bikes going straight on, so absolutely 100% chance of t-bone crashes.
Lane ends abruptly absolutely nowhere useful.
Followed a lady wearing high viz everything as she tried to squeeze between a huge dumper truck thing and two buses. Suggested she didn't the first time and she stopped, then suggested it the second time and she went for it anyway. Slowly and wobbly, inches from death and apparently entirely oblivious.
She then entered the E&C roundabout and positioned herself to the left of a left indicating bus whilst she rode around the roundabout indicating right. Blew my mind.

I know Blackfriars/St Georges Circus is now confusing as fuck but last night someone in a MPV of >some kind actually managed to turn into the bike lane exit heading north despite a load of drivers >leaning on their horns in warning.
Add black cabs doing right turns from Borough Road to Blackfriars in the convenient bus/cycle only lanes.

Vauxhall is why I go the North side of the river between Putney and Lambeth bridges.
Doesn't look like this will change that at all.

Vauxhall is a fucking nightmare. In the, looks back in time, *7 ish * years of being here, I've avoided it as much as fucking possible. Went over it twice this month. WILL NOT WANT TO REPEAT.
I spotted that problem when I was on the bus down there.
Oh look a segregated cycle lane amazing.
Er why it it on the right?
More importantly, why is there no exit for people who want to go left or straight ahead? Why does it spit you out going east on Lambeth Road and if you are a weirdo who wants to go that way then why do you have to cross a lane of traffic to do so? The exit doesn't really take you anywhere logical.
Typical really.
