logmein had a similar solution, and in their history they changed ownership and went nuts about monetisation in a way that really compromised the user experience, turning a very good product into a very bad product.
There are fears that now that logmein have purchased LastPass that they will put up the price and offer a shitty set of "improvements" to the product that ultimately will render it unusable.
The thing is... these are fears, it hasn't happened. And why would it happen? What benefit is there to logmein to spend so much acquiring LastPass just to lose the subscriber base?
It is trivial for you to export all of your passwords, and they are no less secure now that they've been acquired. So it's good for now, and if LastPass fuck it up then it's really easy to move to someone else.
Some of my colleagues prefer https://agilebits.com/onepassword but the feature set isn't quite there for Android users at the moment, and for me personally the lack of native Linux precludes it. So there are other options.

Also a couple of questions re Lastpass. I've been idly reading around as I've had a few scares this year with a couple of low level hacks of accounts that have similar passwords to other accounts. There seems to be a lot of grumbling about lastpass being acquired by/merged into logmein, is this just nerdrage or are there genuine security concerns? Also, after all my passwords have been super secured up how easy is it to log into stuff when you are away from your main computer? Can you look at them from a phone app or is there some kind of cloud based log in system? Can you carry lastpass round on a usb key or suchlike?
