lvl 26, still not made it as far as Diamond city. took a stroll down the left side of the map, hit about 15 deathclaws in a row, and a giant supermutant, and a legendary bloatfly. of them all it took me 4 reloads to get the fucking bloatfly and as it was a reload I didn't even get any mad lootz.
wandered along the top of the map, hit a farm, killed a deathclaw, then a legendary mirelurk hunter dropped my guard and nearly got pasted by a mirelurk king less than 10 yards further along. some of these spawns don't fuck about.
took me a while to get far enough away from sanctuary to finally hit some radiation storms, not saying where I found it but the fallout zone, during a radiation storm was truly beautiful, until I nearly got stinger raped by a pack of rad scorpions who jumped out of the ground completely surrounding me.
anyone been to the place with the mutated ferns and the ghouls? that was a lot of fun, but i worked my way through about 500 plasma cells in ammo. very half-life 2 kind of feel to that place.
am absolutely addicted to building settlements now too. my gripe though is the bulk materials are still way too scarce to make it truly great (unless you are on pc and add them via console. also it's fucking annoying not being able to tell if a settler is already assigned to a task, so you set them on a scavenging station only to see your food count drop as they were one of your gardeners. also why does every npc stand in fucking doorways and halfway up stairs? same goes for you too dogmeat you little shit.

I'm 27, mainly been doing side quests around diamond city and good neighbour, might go one further on the main quest but worried I'll lose my super mutant buddy and his massive carrying capacity for this Nick Diamond geezer I'm supposed to find. I've had all weekend away and am glad to be back.

I keep dodging back and forth between, main quest, side quest and walking as far as I can into the corners of the map even if I run into an alpha deathclaw (I even read how this guy appears online by accident and still forgot and triggered it ) ir other high level beast.
Haven't started the brotherhood of steel quests either. Like to snipe the pilot out of their gunships though and watch the thing go down

Found the kneecapper, dropped off a high level mirelurk randomly in the wasteland for me

Can't decide which to join, railroad, institute or brotherhoods so decided to do as much side quest as possible.
Level 44.
@HatBeard you're talking about the Glowing Sea, I managed right down to the bottom out of the map, amazing.
You're talking about the flooded town with rooftop path? The mission to get mutated ferns?
You should invest in pipe pistol/riffles that make it easier to shoot ghoul's knee cap.

Oh yeah, and it seems I have a problem...

Awesome! I modified it enough to give a more precise hit and more powerful that it only take one shot to bring a normal ghoul down.
It's the most economical guns in term of ammo spend/used.
There is an amusing school where all the ghouls are pink, that's all I'm gonna said .

Spend more time looking for alu to repair the armour, there's a perk that allow you find rare bits in says, fridge (like fucking screws that doesn't show up at first).

• #14136
I haven't chosen any perks to do with nodding weapons/armour or picking up rarer loot yet. Will have to get on it

I'm 27
Lying about your age isn't going to save you from dying earlier in the game.

I'm only level 10, mostly run out of side quests so nearly as Diamond City. I found a hospital full of super mutants which are tough as hell to kill because they keep chucking molotovs which nearly one hit kill me. Finally cleared them all out only to find the boss at the end shot me in the face instantly. So I've left that for now until I'm stronger.
Found a Fraternity house near the police station, also full of super mutants so that one is to be left for later too.
I'm not really sure where to go now, I feel a bit under levelled, can't even do next Brotherhood mission.
@HatBeard what's so special about a radiation storm? I got caught in one before.

You can level up a lot building settlements. You get exp for each thing you build, and you can build some mad, gravity defying stuff too. When you do a 'highrise' you can build out really far, without any support, so can build some great views and strange, very top heavy, structures.

You should, it drastically reduced the number of weapon I carry, rather than having two similar weapon that suitable for a certain scenario, you can modify it to work in both scenario.
Need todo more screenshot, it's really is stunning

Shall I bite at this deal so close to Black Friday? Not interested in FIFA so assume I'll get around £30 for it = PS4 and Battlefront for £240...

@HatBeard you're talking about the Glowing Sea, I managed right down to the bottom out of the map, amazing.
nuh uh. a different area. the lower right corner is nowhere near anywhere i've been yet.
the walkway town is the one. trying to keep it vague for those who haven't found it. haven't got the quest that goes with the location but it was kind of obvious you had to grab em from the holotape in the area.

• #14146
so I just read that synths can infiltrate your settlements and pose as settlers. ffs. gonna have to have a cleansing.

^ for those who wish to discovered locations while exploring, do NOT click on that maps!

And twice as radiated too, as if the constant +1-2 radiation isn't enough.

It's good. I've played the 1st and 3rd games. Got close to finishing the 3rd. Creature AI has some interesting quirks - It's a fun game to sit with binoculars watching mutants interact with each other. Pretending to be a crazed, irradiated David Attenborough...
There's no such thing as too much MK8... My machines are in storage, having to make do with Mario Kart DS for now... And Smashy Road on my phone...
