Looking for a watch for my girlfriend for christmas. Nothing too fancy, either silver or stainless steel, average female watch size, not too delicate. Somewhere around £200-£300. Preferably quartz, solar, kinetic, etc but automatic not ruled out.
My search so far seems to be turning up lots of fashion watches covered in swarovski crystals and the like which isn't what I'm looking for. Any suggestions?

My best advice would be don't ask @cornelius_blackfoot for advice on the subject... #korsgate

Was there a post on here a while back about a guy who did watch repairs by post? Seem to remember he was well recomended.

What do you need repaired? I know of a few good guys.

That's really nice. Is it one of their field watches? Stealth with big numbers isn't usually my cup of tea but stealth but with big numbers that are still actually legible = win.

Yep - lots of other colour combos too.

The Timefactors New G10 is by far the most superior NATO strap I've found (I've tried a lot of others). Very reasonable prices.
Only seem to accept orders from Tuesday to Thursday though...

A NATO strap on that left one would be lovely.

In my opinion, the best NATO straps were the MOD issued ones from the 80's and 90's. They are the same as the current Phoenix-supplied ones, but with a firmer nylon material. I have quite a lot of NATO straps (I own around 30 CWC and Precista G10s).
For anyone who cares about the history of the strap:

Can anyone suggest where to get my Breitling Super Ocean Professional repaired / serviced? Is official the only route? It's very pricey.

STS or try Brendan at webwatchmater, he's done some great work for me.

If you're in Londinium, then Alsal seems to be the service centre of choice. If you want to spend considerably more, then go for Swiss Time Services (as mentioned by @BeauNidle ) based out in Essex. I had an ancient Omega worked on there a few years back and whilst it was costly, it hasn't missed a beat since.

Oops, realised I typed webwatchmater, meant webwatchmaker! Sorry.
Cheers. Much appreciated.
