  • Kind of bland/obvious about the overall minuteness* - but kind of shocking to see that there were less than 10k al-quaeda and maybe 100k Isis...

    * I don't think I need to patronise any of my acquaintances with yet another "hey - not very many muslims are terrorists, y'know?" spam

The paris attacks have caused a worrying and measurable shift in public opinion towards refugees and, in particular, those of Muslim faith. I think it's a useful and clear image in that context. Glad to hear your acquaintances are all well-informed and tolerant.

  • I wouldn't say they are well informed and tolerant as an absolute, but my facebook feed is without exception posting only messages and mostly reposts supporting refugees. So, not all my acquaintances, but the ones most likely to see an infographic, were I to post one.

  • Anyway, the intention of my comment was - that the infographic doesn't really communicate the "not all muslims are terrorists" thing (partly because that's quite obvious), but what it communicates to me is that Isis are 2x bigger than the Taliban and 10x bigger than Al Quaeda, and that's disturbing to me. (And it can be read as a sort of counter message to the overall intention of the infographic - shit aren't they getting big fast, we need to kill kill kill etc)
