Are they doing a new StarTrek film? :)

Ventus
Or Ventus II?

Yeah sorry Ventus II

no brake levers
Track guise or "no conventional brake levers"?
-
• #11356
Ventus II
Which brake lever? I'd expect a fair bit of difference between a 3T Pro and a Shimano BL-TT78

The old school Vision knife lever, but it still does cause a bit of drag.

Always seems to be a trade off between slowing you down when you don't want it and slowing you down when you do :-) I think the Vision lever is even more unpleasant to use than the 3T ones, and neither is good for actual braking. The SRAM lever looks like it should be a good compromise, nice to use without the brick-like shape of the Shimano ones.

Any thoughts on the current fad for creating separation between base bars and aero extensions?

Interesting that the Specialized Win Tunnel reckons there's no difference between brake levers...

Citation?

Somewhere. Hippy tweeted them about Di2 vs standard brake levers.

I might be able to chuck some brake levers onto the Tulas, but it does take all day to run those kinds of simulations so I have other stuff to get through.

Probably because they don't have any of their own to promote...

Don't worry on my part. I'm happy that Ventus + Sram900 is fast enough.

• #11366
@xavierdisley I'm really interested in what you think you can do with mr average *310w for 21:48 on h10/2 I.e. A fair biy more than Mr. Warby

Ventus II + Sram900
ftfy

• #11368
30w more, for just 9s quicker (assuming all else the same)
-
• #11369
Certainly makes for easier change in stack height, also allows a lower base bar for cornering/handling which I prefer

Why not book a session and find out 8-) you won't be slower afterwards ...

Any views on a pair of standard FFWD F6R clinchers for £625? Westbrook Cycles + Quidco.
I figured they will not be as good as the full carbon/tub versions (or indeed many other wheels which are no doubt superior) but wheels are the next step as my TT build slowly climbs out of the gutter and these look a good option in my price range. In fairness they will cost more than the rest of the bike put together.
Everything has been secondhand bar the cassette so far. Current setup is:
2007 Giant Trinity frame from ebay, with ISP
ISM road saddle
Deda Crononero low base bar
Deda Parabolica extensions
Tektro brake levers
DA shifters
Fulcrum 5s
DA 7800 Chainset 53/42
Ultegra 11-23 cassette
Ultegra 6600 rear mech
105 brakes, I think 5600 -

I'd hold off and get a set of Flo's http://www.flocycling.com/store/index.php or look on time trialling forum for a second hand set of a disc and deep and wide front. the FFWDs are supposed to be robust wheels but they are narrow, and in reality a disc is going to be faster in almost all situations (certainly any that you are going to take that chain set on ;)

not entirely sure I was saying there, I blame drunk posting!
30w seems like a lot of effort for 9seconds.
one thing I've learnt is that avg power doesn't paint a brilliant picture, particularly as quite a few times times on 10s this year I averaged 350w for the first 5 minutes and then slowly died!

I'd love to, but my budget for bikes and related parts is currently about £20 per month which is mostly used up by energy gels and coffee on club rides, so it's taking a while to save up! Waiting on the pay rise I'm trying to convince my boss to give me and I'll be in touch...
ps. we've been busy at AeroCoach, have been doing some handlebar comparisons in CFD - USE Tulas still a super 2nd hand budget option
Tula CdA 0.00916m^2 (no brake levers)
Ventus CdA 0.00982m^2 (one brake lever)
