Can't remember if this has been posted but anyone is looking out for cheap film, can get 5 rolls (36 exp) of either Kodak colorplus 200 or fujicolor c200 for £10 from west end cameras.
Similarly if anyone has an asda with photo lab near them it's only £2.50 for develop only then £1 for a scan but that can be up to 4 rolls so 25p for roll, the scans can be a bit rough and ready though

I didn't know scans were that cheap, that's a bloody bargain for preview scans
-
• #10807
Indeed, where I live we can only dream of a bargain like this.

Which Asda's have the photolabs? I think I looked online before and couldn't find out. In London btw

I just posted my Hexar off to some random lad in the US who claims he is able to replace the crappy shutter switches (mine died)... fingers crossed its legit.

The one in Leyton does prints, but not sure if they develop film anymore. Though I wouldn't bother as the negatives were always scratched to fuck whenever I used them.

I normally go to the one in Corby, Northants. I've phoned up a few in London and they only did the usual prints from a computer. I remember seeing a developing machine in their Poole store.
I also emailed them 6 months ago for a list but they didn't have one

Ah okay, at the moment I'm just using Aperture which is £5 per roll for developing and then I can get some quality scans using the scanner at my uni. Probably best/cheapest way of doing it for me.

..was about to say - it's only a good option if they treat the negs well..

Never had scratched negatives, get the odd bit of dust or hair in my scans though

If anyone gives a shit, the ASDA in Leyton do develop film, £2.50 for negatives only.

Asda in Beckton do film, I used to use it regularly 10+ years ago and it was great for enlargements too, but went back last year and it was shit. Seemed like they hadn't seen a roll of film for a while, the negs came back uncut - and unsleeved - because "it makes it easier for us and cheaper for you to make reprints", and the negs were washed out and scans rough. Admittedly my exposure was probably way off, so I'm not totally blaming them for the state of the negs, but at the same time I'm not going back.

Also, I want all the old slide projectors and cameras on the forum at the moment, but I just can't justify it... haven't unboxed most of mine since I moved house more than a year ago.
@chrisbmx116 I have a projector a bit like that for 120, it's beautiful (but I never use it)

Double drop. Take mine. I don't want to throw it out.

Normally it's the superstore ASDA's, like the Walmart ones. I got a film dev'd and scanned the other day. Scan quality was fine for low res. 1818x1228 so barely over 2 megapixels.
Was charity shop hunting today. Avoided to waste money as best I could, even passed up a MJU-1 in box (no case, no battery around to test) for a few quid. However, I did buy this...

Konica AA35
It's a half frame auto-everything camera. Looks pretty cool. Typical broken battery door hinge, but tape will hold it shut. Looks quite rare especially in the black finish. This one is quite worn, I think it's had a full life before me.

Oh, I love a half frame! That looks like a cool wee camera :)
-
• #10822
Yea that's what I thought! Funny little thing.
Might be a while til there's test shots, but at least it's quite slim (albeit kinda heavy like a megadrive game made of metal) so I don't have many excuses not to carry it in the coat or bag.
