I fancy trying my hand at some 10 mile TTs next year, can anyone recommend any routes out east way, epping etc...?

Here's the course list on the London East district website:
http://www.cttlondoneast.org.uk/page24.htmlCourse codes ending with a "/10" will be 10 mile courses - Putting the full course code into Google should give you a MapMyRide/Strava/Googlemaps route for you to use.
or you can read the directions for each course here:

Cheers, was Googling for something like this to no effect!!!

Yeah a lot of the District sites seem like they were designed around 1998 and have not been updated much since. Even the CTT site is a bit crap.
Also, ensure you have a cheque book if you want to enter an Open event, as not all accept internet entries............

They're getting better, I don't think I filled out a single cheque in 2015

Yes , Lea Valley events should be on line entry only next year..
Harpoonist,
the Lea Valley CC Tuesday Ten series starts at the Velopark in the 2nd week in May.
We look forward to seeing you there. -

Awesome, I'm just going through my accreditation now so this will be perfect!
-
• #11334
You don't need to be accredited to ride a TT. If you live in the E numbers then would you like to come on one of our club runs. We meet at Walthamstow Town Hall on Forest Road at 9 am on Sundays.

Has any action been taken to nullify those historic events, and if not, why not?
No, and because it would be hard to prove that the course was truly identical. The further back you go, the less certain it becomes. Road alignment gets changed by the highway authority, landmarks used to locate the start and finish points get moved by utility companies or land owners. There's nothing at stake which would make it worthwhile for anybody to spend much time arguing over past results.

Ah ok thanks - I'll give you a shout when I'm ready!!!

You're lucky you don't live in Q district. I could count on two fingers the number of Opens I was able to enter online this year.
-
• #11338
^ organise your own TT etc, etc.
-
• #11339
I didn't even know there was a Q district!

Learn your fixed TT history - Obree's famous 10 & 50 record breaking weekend happened on Q courses.

That'll be the Q-Factor!

Barely used PX Stealth with SRAM Rival chainset for £300 - Would I be paying over the top?
-
• #11344
Yeah, I'd say. Frameset isn't worth much more than £200 on its own. My friend just sold a Stealth frameset with PX carbon bars and Red groupset (FSA cranks) + pedals ans saddle for £365.

All the effort is going into re-measuring the A100/4 at the moment instead!

99.9 miles on my Garmin...

Been trying to get my head around why some people (seemingly the d2z lot but that's not true 100%) seem to do so well on the uber fast courses but seem to slow relatively more than others on the slower sc courses vs the other front runners - is it that their very good positions are set up for 0 degrees yaw and therefore at slightly slower speeds and with less of a tow so therefore higher yaw the people who are out and out power monsters and those set up in more real world situations don't lose as much?
would ask on ttf but think it would be taken the wrong way...
-
• #11348
Yeah, the more aero you are the more you benefit from traffic on courses like the V718. So guys like Mork who are super slippy but have (relatively) little power can knock out 18s easily there, but struggle to do anything close to that on decent courses.
Compared to guys like Hutch who
arewere fast due to sheer power who won't gain as much from a fast course. -

would ask on ttf but think
it would be taken the wrong wayrepeatedly smashing myself in the face with a lump hammer whilst on a double-date with Jim Carey and Jennifer Anniston would be preferable... -

5deg yaw not 0deg, but the popular hands up position falls to bits once you go outside a tight range of yaw. Great for the V718, not so much for elsewhere.
Regarding the RJB course measuring kerfuffle, I see that they had the course wholly re-measured and that it came up short, thus nullifying RJB's record and all other times from the day.
I've not read the many pages of waffle and the repeatedly closed threads on TTF, but I did see a post where the promoter of the Stockton Whs event said that they had been using exactly the same course for many years and exactly the same start/finish locations. This surely means that all of those events were also short. Has any action been taken to nullify those historic events, and if not, why not? Is there some kind of statute of limitations within the rules?
