At the lower end of the scale Clarks do some reasonable winter stuff. They've a variety of Goretex stuff plus some decent lined stuff with foil soles that are pretty warm. Some look pretty rubbish but some are ok.
I got a pair in the sale a few years ago that have happily made it through winter trips to Montreal and Moscow.
Warm winter boots with grippy soles (that don't look like hiking gear) and shearling lining anyone? I like the look of the ones with a turned over cuff and don't mind spending a bit to get some that don't fall apart.
