• With regard to the chains, don't go there. They're made of cheese. I fitted one on Sunday, had to retension it due to stretch on Monday evening, and 90 miles later, it dropped off the rear cog due to stretch on the way home yesterday, when I was descending Dark Hill in Richmond Park at speed, locking up the back wheel, which was not very pleasant.

I put the chain wear checker on it, and it's at 0.75% stretch already. I wasn't expecting great things, but to wear a chain out to that extent in less than a week is pretty special. These chains are cheap for a reason: they're designed for BSOs or children's bikes, not for people who ride fixed, and actually use their bikes.

Wilko puncture repair kits for 99p are most excellent, with decent feather edge patches, and I've heard good things about their inner tubes too. As for their other bike accessories - tread very carefully.
