Do you happen to have any recommendations?
My recommendation is as above - find your local shop. If you send a drawing to somebody, they will quote for making it exactly as per the drawing. If you have a face to face chat with the machinist, he may have suggestions of how to simplify the design without affecting the function which can radically cut the cost.
To take a simple example, could you live without the rebates for the screw heads? Ditching those counterbores would literally halve the price of that component, because without them it could be milled in one set up.

@mdcc_tester thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go (searching completely blindly) and see if it can be done for a reasonable price. I've seen that you have designed and had various custom bits made for you. Do you happen to have any recommendations?
