I'd suggest a more aero position, rather than your sit up and beg sail in the wind posture. Your short stem means you have little weight on the front wheel.

^ makes sense,.. I will admit being a slave to habit
So much kinder to my back having upright posture in the saddle, especially while wearing a backpack
Might try a stem to stretch out a bit more or swap out risers in the rain for drops to help shift more weight forward
Haven't had any issues with sore back or neck because of such a compact bikefit
Thanks for the input

Any suggestions on how to anchor down front end in 45 mph winds?
More fork rake = easier to ride in cross wind.
Or just get used to the bike.

Front disc wheel will add weight and make you faster...

How the hell did I miss this three years ago?
Sweet Jesus...

If you do get a front disc, don't forget to turn the seatpost around to account for the change in camber.

Camber should never be changed, that small seaside resort on the South coast of England is perfect as it is, even if it is always windy.

Went out today on drops much milder wind/half dry roads was much more pleasant than anticipated... When the wind picks up in wet conditions I'm going to try a negative rise stem with flop n chopped bars instead of risers to help duck wind
Self posted in rat/beater thread
Tempted to squeeze some 32c's for winter so long as they fit

You mean riding in the drop like on your current set up?

Passed on to my brother for paint work favors... Not really missing the weight penalty,.. Admittedly it felt slower than what's on there now from light to light.... Thought it looked cool

My God, I think he's got it...

It felt slower because you change position, not weigh
Unless you've gain a staggering amount of weight of course.

Or it'll rain.

Or as the old saying goes:
When nights do lengthen
And there be a frost,
For your rep to strengthen
Match your stem to your post. -

Trek T1 carbon fork selling for 35euro (50 Can dollars) from local seller in classifieds... Tempted to pull the trigger on this one

As springtime draws near
And rain starts to fall,
To ride free without fear
Fit the horns of a bull. -
• #1524
when windy, just flip the risers upside down

Won't make any difference.

Nearly blown off while riding through an intersection...
Hit a side gust and drifted into the next lane involuntarily
Fully adjusted to the damp weather by just embracing the inevitability of wet feet
Warmth being provided by wearing scuba dry suit booties
