Has any action been taken to nullify those historic events, and if not, why not?
No, and because it would be hard to prove that the course was truly identical. The further back you go, the less certain it becomes. Road alignment gets changed by the highway authority, landmarks used to locate the start and finish points get moved by utility companies or land owners. There's nothing at stake which would make it worthwhile for anybody to spend much time arguing over past results.
Regarding the RJB course measuring kerfuffle, I see that they had the course wholly re-measured and that it came up short, thus nullifying RJB's record and all other times from the day.
I've not read the many pages of waffle and the repeatedly closed threads on TTF, but I did see a post where the promoter of the Stockton Whs event said that they had been using exactly the same course for many years and exactly the same start/finish locations. This surely means that all of those events were also short. Has any action been taken to nullify those historic events, and if not, why not? Is there some kind of statute of limitations within the rules?
