I've build a few bikes in my time and had no skills at all before. Like, didn't know how to fix a puncture. I'm by not means an expert/mechanic now, but have some good skills, and have always had a mechanic check it over.
First thing I recommend is getting a workstand.

There's also madegood.org, which has a lot of good tutorials.
Hey there,
Bit of an odd one here. I want to assemble a bike at the moment and I am missing the tools/complete expertise to do so. I think that I have all the parts now and would like to build it myself with the help of a good tech that can assist.
I had the London Bike Kitchen in mind but they have the full month of November booked and I'd like if I did not have to wait. Also I'd prefer not to go a shop and learn as part of the process - isn't it more fun?
Anyone keen who's got tools on helping me out?
Feel free to let me know your price.
Cheers
