Yes, although he's only a tiny part of the problem.A complete overhaul of kids football is needed, where the focus is on skills, not competitive games.
Knobhead parents screaming shit like: "play the percentages, Josh!", "The channels! Hit the channels!", "Tuck in, charles!!!" all at under 10s, on full sized pitches, with full size footballs. Our F.A. charging the most expensive rates for badges, shit weather, Smeg oven/fridge/freezers i.e. building luxury flats on pitches doesn't help.
There's too much pressure on winning and not having fun. Futsal skills used to develop on the street but with no ball games signs everywhere we seem to be coaching clones with no real invention. Thus the biggest kids that can kick it the hardest get pushed on, aren't encouraged to develop [see Micah Richards]. The lack of basic technique the other night was embarrassing. Stirling@£50M?!
