    Hi all,

    I picked up this bike while doing Champagne deliveries in France.
    It was bought in the late 70's by its original user who lightly used for a couple of years it and stored it in their cellar until I turned up.

    I have just converted and serviced this lovely 1978 Motobecane Racer into a singlespeed bicycle.

    Good used condition with loads of new parts and is ready for its new owner.

    It was originally a 2x6 speed with downtube shifters and non-aero brake levers but I converted it into a singlespeed with aero brake levers - I still have all the original parts if you wish to turn it back into a geared bike.

    The frame size is 56cm so that is good for someone between 5ft9 (174cm) and 6ft (184cm) approximately.
    The frame is made of steel (french made 20-40 light-ish tubing) and has a lovely sparkly light purple / pink - ish / mauve colour.

    Work done and parts fitted:

    • Degreased, cleaned and regreased the headset / bottom bracket / wheel bearings;
    • Re-dished rear wheel to use it as a singlespeed,
    • Trued both wheels and fitted a new Areo clincher tyre at the back and new Vittoria tub at the front;
    • Fitted used Saccon aero levers with brake cable routing under the new pink bar tape;
    • New inner / outer brake cables;
    • New brake pads front and back;
    • New KMX half link chain (purple) and single chainring bolts;
    • New 18T singlespeed freewheel;
    • New pink saddle
    • Fitted a used 'Push' adjustable 26.2mm seatpost to replace the quill seatpost

    Currently running 52t at the front and 18t at the back so nice low 78GI for London riding.

    Let me know if you need more information and please come for a test ride in the city (Gresham Street next to Guildhall)

    Price wise, £225-> £210 -> £195 -> £180 -> £165 -> £175 takes it home.SOLD SOLD SOLD for £160

    Cheers
