I've been busy trying to source as many early-80s Campagnolo Record parts for it as I can. It's getting there now, this is it currently.
Record headset and BB, Olmo Panto stem, 3TTT drop bars, Olmo panto Record brake levers with NOS Campagnolo gum hoods, record DT shifters with Olmo pantos and Campag seat bolt.
It has a 26mm seatpost diam. which I found a nightmare, so it has a campy aero seatpost at the moment, but I found a crocodile skin selle san marco regal saddle (couldn't resist it)

Just fitted some record brakes too, happy with how these have polished up!
Waiting to go on are some record hubs laced to Mavic GP4 tubulars, an interesting olmo "slide on" water bottle (got NOS but has some damage), yellow bar tape (obvs!) with Olmo bar ends, super record rear derailleur & record band-on front

Having real crankset issues though... the record Olmo pantographed ones are so nice. I managed to get my hands on a Victory set, but they just don't compare...

other projects on the go
Sack them off! Let's see this built.
And I'm voting to sell the victory and go record dilemma. -

Patience is your friend. Good luck - I'll keep my eyes out.

I enquired at Brick Lane Bikes about an Olmo Panto stem a couple of weeks back and was told they had an Olmo they were stripping down and sent some photos. Not sure if the cranks are correct or not though + obviously being Brick Lane Bikes they ain't going to be cheap.

I never thought of asking them?! And yeah I'm always concerned about their prices, thankfully it seems like a bit of an odd match Grand Sport arms with Victory rings by the looks? I've been finding the cheapest options are by scouring eBay.it

The victory with the compact spider looks great IMHO. esp. after some mirror polish

I'll definitely keep them. If by the time I finish the rest of the bike I still haven't sourced the Record set then I'll fit these for a bit. See how they look.
It's just me wanting the full group set really -

These are early nineties Chorus cranks

Cheers for the links... I've already got my hands on some of the record levers, only paid £60 for them too which I'm rather happy about! They're mounted with NOS campy gum hoods but I seem to have omitted photographing them ?
Holding out for a super record crankset still. Since I started this thread I haven't stumbled across a single set though, and the seatpost... ah the seatpost... I wish I could buy it... but this frame has a 26mm seat tube so currently got the 80s aero which is the only 26mm one I've ever come across? It's just the crankset I'm after now... and a pair of tubs but I'm procrastinating over which ones to go with?

This is gonna look stunning when finished. Which tape are you gonna go for?

Thanks!
I had some yellow Ambrosio tape, but thought it might look a bit heavy? If that makes sense...
So at the Muswell hill boot I picked up some shiny yellow Benotto style stuff which I think will look the nuts...
The builds slowed down a bit coming up to Christmas but watch this space in the new year! -

don't think it'll look bad actually...but yeah, if you can find yellow benotto, all the better!

Very nice project! But, correct me if I am wrong, your front mech is actually a gran sport (campagnolo 3600/NT) not a record one.

Thanks @HerrJ, no it's definitely Nuovo Record, 6th Generation I think with the cut outs on the rear plate not the front, and a much slimmer profile than the GS
EDIT: It's not the best photo of it I admit, you can't really see the profile but it is like this:

Those two are two different ones.
I am really sure you have the Gran sport one, since you have the added lip to the front fork changer, this lip was added in 1978 by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission because they decided that the flat fork was unsafe.
This is the record (1052/1) 1/2e gen one:
This is the 3e gen (1052/NT) one:
So, after about a year of procrastinating I think it's about time I set up a thread for my current builds.
Mainly it will be my early-80s Olmo which I'm trying to build up for next years Eroica Toscana..
It had already been resprayed when I bought it so was a good start for someone as lazy as me.
This is how I got it.
Its a good 58cm square frame, Columbus Aelle. Nice chome forks with Olmo panto on the crowns.
