Yeah I'm sure there is a knack to it, but mini vees just seem 100% better. Far less maintenance with what feels like the same power.
While we're on the brake topic does anyone know of a good deep drop brake? I have R560s, with new Swissstop green pads and they are quite weak compared to my dual-pivot 5800 series on the other bike. Is my only option really £100 TRPs?

Canti are fine, just go for the good one like those mid range Tektro, shimano etc.
Biggest difference is running fork mounted cable hanger which allow you to lower the straddle cable and get great braking power with no fork judder.
